Chimney sweeping means removing or sweeping away
the hazard of accumulated and highly combustible creosote produced
by burning wood, oil and coal. (Creosote: A product of incomplete
combustion: deposits of unburned, flammable tar vapors from
wood smoke. Sometimes it's crusty or flaky in texture, but
often sticky or hard. Creosote deposits can be hard to remove
from chimneys, and pose a serious fire hazard.)
It means eliminating the build-up of soot in wood, coal
and oil burning systems, it means getting rid of bird and
animal nests, leaves and other debris that may create a hazard
by blocking the flow of emissions from a home heating appliance.
In doing their primary job, sweeps also function as on-the-job
fire prevention specialists. Chimney Jack’s sweeps
are constantly on the lookout for unsafe conditions that
can cause home fires or threaten residents with dangerous
or unhealthy indoor air quality.
Chimney Jack’s sweeps will properly clean your chimney
using proven methods to assure that no soot or creosote escapes
into the room. Drop cloths, tarps over the fireplace and
high speed vacuums allow us to guarantee mess-free cleaning.
While sweeping the chimney, Chimney Jack will also perform
a complete Level I safety inspection according to the requirements
of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard
211 and inform you of their findings.
Chimney Jack cleans chimneys for fireplaces and fireplace
stove inserts, free standing wood stoves as well as furnace
and boiler chimneys. |
